The Daily Show (1996) : 31x124

Ronny Chieng breaks down a chaotic Election Day, from a voter going into labor at the polls and a MAGA supporter praising Trump’s “incredible fraud” to Haley Stevens’s latest political reinvention, Don Jr.’s confusion about Ohio, and Trump fielding questions about the hottest member of his administration. Grace Kuhlenschmidt and Troy Iwata also hit the streets of New York to find out how people voted. With 2026 voting wrapped up, Josh Johnson turns to the next obsession: the 2028 presidential race, sizing up potential contenders including JD Vance, Gavin Newsom, and Sen. John Kennedy. Because if there’s one thing Americans love more than an election, it’s the next election. Later, award-winning novelist Min Jin Lee joins Chieng to discuss her new book, American Hagwon, Korean education culture, the values of respect and sacrifice, the true worth of elite higher education, and her novel’s exploration of immigration, financial hardship, and why bad things happen to good people.
